My life as a bus aide.

So, I got my first job here, after 8 months. Sobrang nakakapanibago kasi back in the PH, bookkeeper ako, pero naisip ko, wow, bagong experience, ano kayang meron sa pagiging bus aide?

Long explanation short, stewardess slash nurse in bus. Panong nurse? Kasi kelangan kong alagaan if needed yung mga pasahero. All of our clients are mentally challenged. Nung una kinakabahan ako. Pano pag nag-tantrums sila? What if they hit me? etc.

I remember Darrel, I think 70+ na yung edad nya.

me: So Darrel, who’s waiting for you at home?

D: My care provider.

me: Where’s your family?

D: They’re all gone, my mom and my dad are gone, my stepbrother and his wife left.

me: Do they visit you sometimes?

D: No, not at all. Tried to call them but it’s long distance access code, I don’t even know what that means..

I was like, wow, kung lolo ko ‘to, di ko sya iiwan. Oh well.

I wish to do my job as long as I can. Never felt this happy.
